2011-2012 SJAA BASKETBALL
Games Cancelled
I would like to thank all of you for giving your input on the road conditions while keeping in mind the safety of our kids when considering this is an elementary basketball game. SJAA greatly appreciates all of the parents who have called or emailed me regarding the conditions in their area. We took all of this into account when making our decision. We all realize that in some areas of our District the roads may be fine while in other parts the conditions are still hazardous. As of noon the school district was still plowing the parking lots so that they would be usable and safe. This morning they would have been neither usable nor safe.
We hope to make up the 3-6 games at the end of the season and completing the 1-2 grade boys games next week while the 1-2 girls games will start the following week.
Again, thank you to all the Board Members and parents that have called or emailed with support and thank you's for SJAA making this decision.
We are all on the same team when it comes to the safety of our families, community and most importantly of ALL OUR kids. This is why I have chosen to raise my family in Snohomish.
Thank you all for your patience, understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Jerry

Zackery Lystedt Law Brings Renewed Focus on Concussions
A new law enacted by the state Legislature this year requires youth and high school athletes to receive education about the dangers of concussions. The law also requires youth players with suspected concussions to be taken out of the game and evaluated by a qualified professional. Please read and sign this form and return it to your coach.
